It’s that time of year again, summer! And you know what that means, time to get your beach body back! In this list, you will find all the best applications available for your mobile phone on well being and personal fitness.

The first application on this list I have personally used and recommend to everyone is My Fitness Pal! My fitness pal is an application made to keep track of your calorific intake during the day and how many calories you have burnt via exercise; having a virtual food diary is extremely helpful when trying to lose weight for both yourself and your GP.

The app is entirely free and the highest rated fitness application on the iOS app store! So give it a try today. You won't regret it.

 

The following application is Runkeeper, made by Asics; this app is used to track your run and pace. You can set individualised goals to meet your expectations and celebrate your milestones. The app is simple and easy to use! And with the help of the inbuilt guided workouts, you’ll be motivated straight away to lose those few extra pounds and excited to exercise again. Runkeeper can be synced with your apple watch, making your workouts even easier by tracking your achievements whilst you’re on the go. It's definitely worth looking into, with a 4.8/5 star rating and a completely free app.

 

Up next, we have the Nike training club. Whatever your energy, progress is always possible with the Nike Training Club App. With access to 200+ free workouts and targeted training programmes, from invigorating yoga classes to bodyweight sessions with and without equipment, you'll find the proper workout to match your mood. Follow the Nike Trainers through varied courses, ranging from 5–to 50 minutes. Do them at home, in the gym, or outdoors – whenever and wherever you want. The next application on this list isn’t strictly a fitness app; however, I felt it was imperative to add at least one gym on this list, and the one I have chosen is PureGym. With zero joining fee and no contract fees allowing you to leave at any time you choose, I believe this is one of the best gyms available on the market, not to mention once you’ve joined, you can enter any of the PureGym across the country, you’re not stuck with just one single branch. Meaning even on holiday, you can still find time to work out!

Not someone who uses the gym often? Don’t worry! You can pause the payments at any time! And with hundreds of classes available and 24hr access, you can come and go and work out at your own pace! If you’re looking for a new gym, I highly suggest PureGym.

 

Lastly, I feel it would be a miss, not to mention the inbuilt health app available on your iPhone. The health app is excellent; it’s built to track almost everything to do with your personal health from the menstrual cycle to sleep phases. It comes with every mobile apple device as standard and is the most comprehensive fitness app on the market; if you’re not looking to download a new application or try something new, give the health app a try, it’s surprisingly well made and comes with thousands of features!
